Illinois-based Phil Cooper is a guitarist extraordinaire who offers a passel of stately and precise Celtic tunes. His strings ring with harp-like clarity even as his fingers dance across the frets with the lightening speed required when transposing what are mostly fiddle tunes. A quiet album that's perfect for contemplative moments.
